From Figma to Code Without Losses: The Design-to-Development Process 3.0

A common agency pain point is “the mockup looked different.” We describe a process that narrows the Figma → production gap.

From Figma to Code Without Losses: The Design-to-Development Process 3.0

01 A shared token language

Colors, spacing, radii, and typography as variables in both Figma and CSS, with matching names. This eliminates the "almost the same shade" problem in production.

02 States and edge cases

The design must show hover/focus/error/empty/loading states. Otherwise the developer improvises, and inconsistencies appear.

03 Sign-off

A pixel-parity checklist at key breakpoints, comparison with Dev Mode, and an agreement on acceptable deviations (e.g., font anti-aliasing). Regular design↔dev sync meetings.
